North Carolina Health Policy Gateway

Welcome to the North Carolina Health Policy Gateway

This site is intended for use by the NC health policy community, media and general public. This portal directory includes three components. The What's What section provides a comprehensive listing of organizations whose mission relates in some way or importantly affects health policy, including those found in the state executive branch, legislative branch and judicial branch, local agencies, trade organizations, professional associations, consumer groups, policy research organizations, universities, foundations and media. Users can find a brief description of each organization, the name of the organization head (with a link to their Who's Who profile) and a link to that organization's Web page for further contact information and details.

The Who's Who area provides a parallel listing of federal, state and local policymakers in NC who handle health policy issues (and key staff) as well as experts in various health policy issues, including those found in the organizations listed in What's What. This directory permits users to find policymakers and other health policy experts based on their self-designated areas of expertise, geographic location and other characteristics.

The Health Policy Issues portion provides a listing of resources related to a comprehensive set of health policy topics and subtopics that users may select for viewing. As new health policy information is released in the form of reports, other types of publications or even new Web pages by What's What organizations or Who's Who experts, links to these materials would be provided on the relevant subtopic page(s) so that users viewing a particular sub-topic can easily locate the most current and relevant information related to that issue.
